~Rocky Rawstern, Founder Access. Rocky served as Editor of Nanotechnology Now (NN) for over 5 years, and was instrumental in the creation of and updates to the NN website, products, and services. During that time he collected, categorized, and posted over 20,000 nanotechnology and nanotech-related news articles and press releases, and interviewed hundreds of stakeholders. For "outstanding journalistic or other communication endeavors that lead to a better public understanding of molecular nanotechnology and its high social and environmental impact," Rocky was awarded the 2005 Foresight Prize in Communication. ~Adriana Vela, Founder & Chair NanoBioNexus. After 18 years of tracking leading-edge technologies in the high-tech industry and defining new markets, Adriana embarked in the Life Sciences arena through various client-led projects. In 2004, Adriana founded NanoBioNexus, a not-for-profit corporation focused on tracking nanotech applications in the life sciences. She leads a team of high caliber scientists and business professionals and has developed an international presence for NanoBioNexus. Under her leadership, NanoBioNexus was selected to participate in a $20 million, 5-year National Cancer Institute grant for the creation of a Center for Cancer Nanotechnology Excellence (CCNE). ~Neil Gordon, President and co-founder of the Canadian NanoBusiness Alliance (CNBA), which specializes in the commercialization of nanotechnology and advanced technologies. In 25 years of business experience he has co-founded several companies, launched over 10 diverse high tech product lines, and participated in over 20 nanotechnology commercialization projects throughout the world, including nano-bio-info convergence and nanotechnology applications in CleanTech and clean water solutions. Neil is currently heading a NASA spin-off that is commercializing a carbon nanotube biosensor that can rapidly detect trace amounts of specific bacteria, viruses and protozoa. Biohazards kill 18.4 million and sicken over 1 billion people each year.
